MY PROGRESS
So far with my crabitat I have;
-Priced up all the items need to keep my crabitat humid, warm, spacious and enjoyful for my crabs. The total cost was £107.53 which won't take me long to gather up over the weeks. ( I have attached a Word Doc of the costing please inform me if I need to add or upgrade some of the items. )
-Researched for days on how to care for my crabitat and crabs. I have also checked out a couple of books on hermit crab Anatomy. Whilst reading the books I have gained the knowledge of what to feed my hermits, how to keep them clean, how to keep my hermits healthy and how to make their lifes happy and loving.

MY CRABS
I do not yet have any crabbies but in the very near future I am hoping to own 3 or more hermits in my tank. I will start of fairly basic with a 10 gallon tank ( x2 one for molters ) and 3 PP's then hopfuly upgrade to a 20/30 gallon tank by the end of this year.

Yeah, thanks and I hope to keep you and everyone else informed too
sounds like you are on top of everything, I did notice is that you're going to be running 2 tanks one for moulters and one for your other hermies, you don't need a separate tank for moulters as they generally bury down to moult and you shouldn't dig up a moulting hermie, if you have a surface moulter you can use the bottle method to ensure it's safety whilst keeping it in your main tank. You have also mentioned that you are going to buy commercial foods many commercial foods contain additives that aren't necessarily good for your hermies, the Ab-crab store stocks a wide range of natural foods to keep your hermies very healthy, as well as safe water conditioners both dechlor and salt, shells, woods and anything else you may need to keep your hermies happy and healthy.

Okay, yeah I have read about the bottle method and thought it would be effective. Also doing that method it saves me £30/70 on an extra tank and supplies. Also yeh I didn't really think that the food I had said was the best, it was just a rough quote for the cost. I will proberly be buying foods from the Ab-Crab online store and give my hermies some fresh veg and fruit ( plenty of that because I'm vegeterian ). Thanks for the heads up.
You are doing really well love and we look forward to hearing more about your progress. I would recommend Ab Crab for everything hermie, you know it will be good quality and spot on. I would only ever buy from our on line sore, I really don;t trust anywhere else.

Hugs

No problem that's what we're here for, many pet stores and published books give out incorrect information, this is why ab-crab was started up and is now considered the No1 land hermit crab resource and supply store in the UK, as you are a vegetarian the abcrab store will be very useful to you as they have meat/fish/bug flakes and powders to make up part of a balanced diet for your hermies Guests cannot see images in posts. Yeah can only echo what everyones said! Ive not had my hermies that long, and at first before finding ab crab had some commercial foods and stuff from the supermarket, but when i read everything here and bought from the store just binned it haha its much better and you know it'll be perfect for your hermits. Also on your DOC. be wary of hamster toys and such from petshops, alot (most) of the wooden accessories arent safe types of wood, aswell as the ropes and materials. (lucky for me when i bought those unknowingly i had rabbits and friends with rodents to give them to so they werent a complete waste of money!!)
Hemps string/rope etc, is a good material, especially the nets that Wolfy sells on here.
Woods - choya, mopani, driftwood, corkbark and java are all great too.
Would definatley recommend you investing in some choya! its great for them to pick at and eat aswell as climbing, and looks v.attractive in tank. Good allrounder!! my hermies love it!
Anyway! seems like your on top of most things! good luck Guests cannot see images in posts. Please register by clicking here to see images. look forward to seeing it set up! xxx

Yeah absolutly, I had a look at the rope and choya very interested in that so will probs be buying some or alot of the toys and stuff. also i was wandering about the hamster toys and thought they would contain bad glues and treated wood so I did decide to go against it and go with coconuts but never got round to change the DOC. I was also thinking, and I read it too that if you safely collected and contained (not for to long) rain water that hermies would drink that insted of dechlorinated water just if i ran out of the drops. thanks for giving me the heads up on everything too Guests cannot see images in posts.
