When Hermie's are buried suspected Moulting

1. Be vigilant as to the date they dug down
2. Observe crabitat daily for signs of activity
3. Listen carefully to crabitat in dark quiet room
4 Continue to provide fresh and salt dechlor waters and foods
5. DO NOT undertake deep clean or major tat re-organisation
6. Do count weeks each crab has been under
7. DO NOT dig to look for crabs to "check if they are ok" before 12 weeks
8. DO NOT dig to look for crabs after 12 weeks if there are crabs who have been under less than 12 weeks *disturbing a moulting crab CAN be FATAL*

9. ONLY when you are sure you will not disturb another crab less than 12 weeks under AND if you have NOT seen or HEARD any signs of life is it advisable to look for the missing hermie - do this by gently sifting the substrate systematically by hand- if you feel the crab, use a soft bristle paint or make up brush to gently smooth away substrate to see how the crab is - if there are signs of life very carefully cover the crab (bottle method or cocohut. clam shell etc and recover with substrate - its important to protect the space around the crab with something or you risk suffocating it as you replace the substrate. If sadly the crab has passed there is an unmistakable smell that will leave you in no doubt Guests cannot see images in posts.
