I just wish handling them didn't freak them out so much. My little ruggie 'bout went bonkers when I pulled him out of the tat and then put him back in. He was crashing around like something was after him! I guess probably very well felt like 'something was after him'!! Any way here's my Big Guy and as I thought he's in a shell waaay too small for him. The chart says he's a large... His color is dull so I bet he may be headed for a molt soon. Ugh, I know the big ones stay down LOOONG. I soo need to do a mostly deep clean... There's five down now!
hes a nice size mornstar

awww cool wicked hermie!!!
Wow, that's one big hermie (or I'm just a complete wimp!). Do hermies get aggressive or anything as they get bigger? I swear I am gettin used to the idea that I may get pinched, but it does still ensure a cold sweat at the thought of such a big fella doing that!

Most will pinch if you're handling them and they feel like they're falling. Normal reaction I would say. So if you must handle one just be very careful to give him support to make them feel secure. I don't recommend handling, mine always freak. Some say over time they get used to you. I just think it's an added stress to a wild critter that they don't really need. Having one of mine eat from my hand while he's sitting in his tat is more than satisfying for my 'up close and personal' experience!
